Amazing July

We added some signal flags to the cottage in July. Friends from way, way back visited. The gardens made it through a significant drought. Drones become an everyday event it seemed.  The July open house was a very busy fun day as we did it a little differently, emphasizing the runway exhibit over the artifacts in the Cottage.

Etrusco Memorial revealed

A great event in June as the Scituate Historical Society unveiled a memorial stone commemorating the work of the Coast Guard and the volunteer radio crew on the night the Etrusco came ashore. This memorial also gave the Society a chance to share a taste of the story of WRUL. This project was championed by the family of Jim Howard, Lynne and Gabe Crocker particularly, helped by Jim's good friend Bob Marchese. Funding came from Jim's friends at the direction of his family at his passing. The pictures show some of the steps in the process. More than 130 attended the unveiling and speakers included Tom Hall, Jim Keefe, Arnold Goulston, David Ball and Jeff Howard.

June - Complete with an amazing rainbow

June was full with field trips, a tribute to Elmer Pooler, an amazing rainbow wrapping the Light, more work on the gardens, complete with a Lawson rose in bloom, and some carpentry bringing the docks in the yard up to speed with the Boardwalk which had become a sensation. June also saw the midnight filming of a commercial for a new car dealership. Yes that is the keeper in uniform pointing to the sky in his television acting debut.

Puttering around in May

May was another full month. Former street signs got framed and mounted on the cottage. Work on the gardens continued. Its not every day you see a dog riding shotgun. The Edgerton Bell was given a facelift by our friends from Skylight Studios in Woburn. And the prom.

April Chores

April was a full month. A Motorized para sail, work in preparation for planting, including an upgrade around the flagpole bench, grading a route for the boardwalk and its installation during the April school vacation.
